After a delay of several weeks caused by visa complications – an annoying but unfortunately common delay – Youmbi, accompanied by his Totems, finally arrived in Johannesburg. In collaboration with the remarkable team of the Keleketla Library, Totems is presented at the Point Blank Gallery | Drill Hall from June 24 to July 2.

The installation was put together in two days, with the support of Tsepo, Jabu, Kim, Thenji, Thomas and his team of welders, the sewing team, Maya and of course Ra. The result: a very lively opening, despite the World Cup matches and the cold of the Joburge winter.
