Following Kakudji’s residency, SPARCK presented his work to Editions de l’Oeil – a publisher in Paris known for a widely read, English and French series of mini-monographs on innovative contemporary artists. The response was enthusiastic and a monograph on Kakudji’s work was published in May 2010. The images are of works produced during the artist’s Cape Town residency and the text is by SPARCK collaborator Stacy Hardy: a gutsy and beautiful writer, video artist, curator and activist based in Cape Town.
