Event: 2nd African Urbanism Colloquium
Hosted by: African Centre for Cities
Dates: 29 – 31 May 2010
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Cairo formed the ultimate urban backdrop for this second colloquium organised by the African Centre for Cities. It is part of a larger African Urban Initiative that commenced with a first gathering in Cape Town (April 2009). As in Cape Town, Cairo brought together a wide mix of theorists and artists who work on ‘the everyday’ as a way of building a new body of theory that can better capture the specificity of urbanism on the continent.
