In September 2009, Dominique Malaquais gave a presentation about SPARCK’s structure and goals at the headquarters of United Nations University in Tokyo, in the context of an international conference on Africa and globalization in the 21st century. The conference focused on key themes relating to the future of the continent in a global world, notably:
- Research and development goals in the construction of knowledge societies;
- Impacts of information technologies and sustainable education and business models on human security, public health and resource allocation;
- Concrete, innovative practice at the micro-social and micro-economic levels.
